I don't care too much about the folders but that part and the coin dated 2016 is pretty silly, I'll give you that

Quote: Can't put in any of the longer covers underneath the tray. I just got mine and you can put the small folders on the bottom and the larger ones fit on a shelf above the small ones. The box is 8 7/8" wide x 7 1/2" deep x 2 2/8" tall and comes with a heavy plastic sleeve that you can leave on or not. The lid closes with magnetic buttons. I have read a lot of negative things about this box, but for me I like it, I think this is a good deal.

Rjlavoie - Don't worry about the plastic flip holders, there's no real benefit to hanging on to them unless perhaps you are planning on selling them off later and even then no big deal if they are only in the capsule. I threw mine out when I transferred them to the Lighthouse case and kept the cards in one of the mint shipping box with a few duplicates. The coins fit nicely in their holes, don't rattle around and with the padded top, don't fall out either. Anyone ordering the cardboard RCM case that's not a MC member may have to pay the shipping which has to run the total price close to $40 or more. This makes the LH box a better buy in my opinion. Can anyone confirm this? As another alternative CCC lists a leather wallet that holds 24 or wait for a better deal to come along. http://www.cdncoin.com/product-p/623932721500.htm

those leather wallets were designed for the $100 14k coins about 7 or 8 years ago. They came in two sizes $100 and $200 with places to hold the COA's. Not new, but very nice way of keeping the coins in a safety deposit box. I wouldn't waste buying one for the 20/4/20's. JMHO.

What is a light house box? Is it from RCM?

No, Lighthouse is the name of a company that sells coin and stamp Collector Accessories. Colonial Acres is a distributor of their products.

It's nice to see that some buyers are completely satisfied with the case. And not to pump Lighthouse but for others, their vast array of accessory products are an absolute necessity in terms of flexible storage and display options for coin collectors of all sorts, including NCLT. They are a worldwide company. It's not much fun to keep a collection stored in a box or bin in the assortment of packaging that RCM sells them in. RCM is a minter of coin and it's unlikely they'd ever carry a product line anywhere near what Lighthouse does. Don't be afraid to store your collection in whatever gives you the most satisfaction of accumulating it, so that you get the most enjoyment out of it. If there's a coin show near you, Lighthouse might have a table there and you can find out by emailing them in advance, saves shipping costs I've found their employees to be extremely helpful and informative, utterly anxious to offer ideas to whatever the needs.

Well said Wildflower! I was trying to point out the alternatives which were already available before the Mint decided to cash in on the demand for a dual function option for these coins. Just got my first look up close of the box housing the 20 coins which incidentally would probably have fit the larger cards had they not included the bumper pads for the tray to rest on. The 2016 whimsical winter coin (the bear is enjoying himself too much and probably let one go) is only there because it was issued late 2015 and to fill in the remaining space.

The only card that doesn't fit, is the canoe one. It's slightly longer than the box. I guess we could use a paper trimmer or keep separately with the spares.

cash03 why doesn't it fit? Mine went in, they go on top of the small ones on the shelf.

My canoe one didn't fit either. It is larger than the other "long type" folders. I used some scissors and just trimmed a little bit of each side so it would fit properly.

I found all my coins (had to dig up a couple of coffee tins :) ) but it's the folders that I have stashed in different places. I seem to be missing a few of the earlier ones.

I did that and made it the last one. It's a couple of mm's longer than the rest. It's longer than the box-lol.

Most of the concerns posted on the Mint website deal with coins falling out of their spots (another good reason for the pictographs)and that the large cards don't fit in the tray.
I maintain that you get what you pay for and those that are not satisfied should purchase the Lighthouse trays or boxes and not expect the mint to get it right the first time.
Originally I thought that $50 was a bit much for the premium presentation case, but even though this cardboard box has become such a hot item, I doubt whether it will have much of an impact since there is little similarity between the two.
With a huge backlog of orders, they're more than happy to accept returns to fill the demand.
