Looks like an RPM perhaps? And what about areas on the 5s? And it doeswn't really look like a doubled eyelid to me, but I have no experience with them. Can anyone help me understand?

The only thing I see with this Lincoln, looks like an RPM . the reverse of your coin looks like it just had a brand new paint job. Sorry, but I have to call them as I see them .

It's the 1MM-014

You can see the die break on the "E", too.

Thanks so much! Guess I am getting tired - I should have seen that. Also, no paint! The color does look a little off and the weight is 3.2 g - but I suppose that is within tolerance.

Looks like a minor split upper serif. The areas around the date maybe where thy over polished the die and part of the deeper digits were taken down a bit. (not a big thing) The reverse show a small die gouge from the 'E' on one. A contact mark above 'UM' on the rim.

Nothing as strange as a slanted 5 on the date:

That was a weird coin a friend gave to me. Jury is still out on this one.

I will be interested to hear the jury's verdict when they report in! Thanks.

It looks like a 5, but it is not truly the size of the 5, so it probably was die damage as it is raised slightly in that area.

coop, maybe it's a 7 under there? It's okay to give me the because I know there is no 7 on the obverse. Fun thought though.

Thanks for the compliment, Slamnbass. I have been working on taking better photos - a real struggle. Coop keeps making suggestions which I listen to. I cannot replicate his setup but try to make do with what I have. It would probably be an interesting exercise to take the history of any one of us with the CCF and illustrate their photography work from the earliest they posted until now and compare.

Interesting idea, but they didn't use date punches on the dies. Just the master dies. This had to be damage and it may have been polished off on the next dressing of the die.
