I set my S mint mark pennies to the side to double check for rpm's and to my surprise I found this 1942-s ddo-2,i think it might be I fine grade any help will be appreciated.

The middle of the reverse has a wood grain look to it

Very nice find! As for the grade, can you get any sharper pics of the reverse? I need to see the wheat lines but I suspect that it is VF35/EF40. Sharper pics of the obverse would be good too!

I'm going with VF-35... But is that a gouge on the reverse on the "N" or CENT?

Thank you for your help,on the N I think it might be damage just not sure what could have done it,i will try to take better pictures tomorrow,i have a problem with my wrist so it is hard for me to hold the camera still I am going to get my son to help me.
