I think the ebay twoonie is german and Robmck's isn't.

Wrong. robmck1967's $2 German planchet blank came directly from me... it is most definitely legit.

Well I'm not sure I understand why does Robmck1967's coin have an inner core rim and the ebay coin doesn't if they both in your opinion are German planchets?

I cannot speak for the ebay coin - the real test is the weight (7.3 grams) and the outer ring being pure nickel (which I check with my XRF at work). robmck1967's is legit.

All the seller had to do was compare it to a struck toonie of that era, maybe it would sell through.

So are the composition and weight of a Deutsche Nickel planchet different from an RCM one? Also, how do you tell them apart on a struck coin?

The 2 Euro coins are larger and has a larger core and weight, than the toonie.
