Inukshuk coin available again at The Coin Shoppe.

But now the limit of 1 per customer.

http://www.thecoinshoppe.ca/iconic-...nadian-mint/

Probably another batch from RCM (and RCM continue to handle cancellations)

So I presume some cancellations fall within the 30 day "satisfaction guaranteed" period, purchased by MC flippers who were unable to satisfy their lust for immediate profit via ebay?

(I dare say RCM is becoming a poster child to demonstrate why government corporations perpetually seem to fail in the area of operating a successful business, in their case they benefit only because they hold the monopoly over it.)

Considering RCM is Sold Out, it'd be my guess that returns still in mint shape would get sold to dealers at a discount.

On the topic of recycling in general, I had a picture in my mind of the Pysanka coin being a part of a family's fun-filled Easter festivities, now that's it's over, gooey fingerprints washed off the capsule and no further useful purpose, so "why not sell it?" Unique feature regarding NCLT issues, can't know how used it is when not purchased immediately upon release.

Cancellations? Based on what, your own theory?

Geesh, maybe Jack is making counterfeits in the back room or aliens drop some off to him....or, more likely, he bought them from other dealers or friends at issue (as he has said he has done with many other coins) to sell for a small profit.

Sorry, I just don't understand the rabid negativity towards any coin that sells out. Either it's never gonna make any money, it's gonna flop or people only bought it because of hype. How about people bought it because they liked it? Is there no room for that opinion?

/end rant

CC, Upon each issue that RCM and dealers sell out virtually immediately, a week or later it seems that one or dealers appear to obtain more stock from somewhere. For example, this occurred last month with the Cherry Blossom and CCandC.

Nobody is suggesting any nefarious activity on the part of any dealer, merely speculation about the source.

There are 6000 coins, so unless there are 6000 collectors that are keeping them, there will be quite a few of these floating around once the dust settles.

On other forum by knowledgeable people were advised to cancel Inukshuk orders, what have been done.

People who bought it (or any other coins) for the collection only, and they like it, not impacted. But people who still think to buy it, since it available again, to make some small profit - better not to do it.

Check please recent post on other forum:
additional batch available at APMEX for issue price.
When the coin found there, its numis status getting lower, no?

Especially the Pysanka. I detect bitterness at the coin's success.

Why not just let it go?

Things this coin has going for it - Not a huge mintage, it is a different
looking coin with the gold plating which makes it distinct, it is moderately
priced, with a very Canadiana theme.

Some may have the O Canada Inukshuk to make a set and with this coin's success
there may be a second and third gold plated in the future and then who would
not want to have number 1. Just thinking out loud.

I certainly hope there's more than a few who buy for that reason. By the end of last year there was a lot of frustration expressed by NCLT collectors in general, mainly because secondary markets were flooded with NCLT without enough buyers. I'm not yet convinced anything has really changed even though mintages have been reduced.

In the past I've notice most, certainly a majority, of releases were a part of a series, often issued over periods of time longer than a year. Now it's the opposite and I don't understand why RCM has backed away from that trend. Even using the 2011 Ladybug as an example, likely wouldn't have been nearly as popular had it been a standalone issue.

As for the Inukshuk or any other single release, I'd be surprised if RCM created a series after the fact. Can anyone recall that ever happening?

This coin just looks great in hand...and very affordable;
It's a sell out because of the quality of the design...and low mintage.
Given its success the Mint will undoubtedly design more reverse gold enhancements coins...and why not..silver and gold together make for far better eye candy than painted/print images...IMO.
