DavidUK That is a very cool looking coin.
Almost looks like it could be a "Valar Morghulis" coin
How big is it?

Quote: They started making the Loonie dollar coin in 1997 but they made the voyageur that year too just not for circulation. It is not by any means rare or expensive, just kind of novel as many people think the last voyageur one was 1996. Just take 10 years off and all is good. First Loonie was in 1987. Last Voyageur in Sets 1987. Slip of the finger I'm sure punman. I like the 1987 PL Voyageur Nickel Dollar as well. My Avatar is a 1948 Quarter with many obverse Die Cracks, it is a gift from my wife, I am a lucky fella. Nice pics here. https://goccf.com/t/252524

Mine is a Buffalo dollar that everyone thinks is a nickel... I'm frequently misunderstood.

My Avatar reflects the final phase of Numismatic change in 1997 when I discovered the World of Errors when joining ebay.. Having collected coins & currency (Colonial, Broken Bank Notes, Southern States & Confederate Currency - [on Grover C. Chriswell's monthly mail bid list], etc.) from the mid 1960's to 1997, I sold everything in 1 lot and focused on Errors.. Gained quite a bit of information from Fred Weinberg from around 1998/9 when he first joined ebay, and from then to April 2006, we had purchased errors from each other on the Bay, (I ended all ebay sales when my Coin Store & PayPal accounts were hacked into).. My Avatar is what I consider unique, a 2003d quadstrike (all strikes die struck) I purchased from a ebay seller in late 2003 that had connections to Counting House Errors .. This was the most I had paid for a 1¢ error, and Fred Weinberg was the underbidder.. When ebay went International, so did I, and expanded to Global Errors.. I found more access to errors when signing in to eBays UK sites, listings not found on the eBay(dot)com site, this is where I found all the Great Britain Errors, and messaged the sellers that if they ship to the U.S.A., they will receive higher bids as I will outbid the local bidders.. Surprisingly, they all were happy to ship to this side of the Pond..

Thanks SilverDon for noticing my error about the Loonie coming out in 1987 and not 1997. I knew that. I collect them too. Must have been a slip of the finger (or old age)!

GR - My first svatar did reflect something about myself. Lincoln is a favorite of mine on many levels, Lincoln Cents being one of them. I saw many interesting avatars from members here, some of key finds/discoveries that they have. It was the reason I elected to avatar hunt. My recent avatar was just a lovely specimen that the LCS owner pulled out of his safe to show me. I liked it...would love to have it...but will settle for the picture for now.

My avatar is one of my favorite Morgan dollars in my collection. I've taken better photos of it since but I'll stick with this one for now.

True Cascade!! Child and I chatted about this the other day. To be honest, I'm not sure if he was first with his avatar or me with mine. No worries though: plenty of room to build a team of V nickel avatar members!

First ever Morgan dollar.
Never mind, it's my favorite CC Morgan. The first one has a streak of glue on the reverse that means too much to be to acetone off.
