1998 P Lincoln Missing Initials?

I almost tossed this one aside to junk, but something made me look at it again.
On the reverse, the designer's initials (FG) are absent. I took a picture at a slight angle, because it looks like there are die marks in that area. With the rest of the devices present, it has me wondering...

They are still there, but barely. Over polished die.

Some save these. I wouldn't. To me an over polished die is just that. An over polished die.

Some save these but I only like them when the initials are 100% gone.
