in the past - I have received 2 complete $25.00 boxes of 2015 cents. both times I returned them to a "dump" bamk - unsearched.
receintly my "hobby" budget is nearly non-existant. I just picked up $3.00 in coin rolls, from the bank, and they are all 2015P.
i reviewe wexlers 2015 listings of doubled dies for 2015.
with a couple of exceptions, most seem so minor - that they look nearly impossible to spot.
i just dont seem to be able to motivate myself to search them - for that reason.
i see some posts showing some menbers finds, but I guess they are just not that interesting to me.
just a "rant" - but I guess these are all on their way back to the bank - nunsearched.

On boxes of cents that are OBW rolls, you will only need to check a few rolls and you have an idea what is in the whole box. Then if you find nothing, you can spends them and get another box from a different location. When I go out of town, I often try to get rolls there. It gives you a new look at what could be out there. Local hand wrapped rolls can be interesting from small towns. You just never know what you will find in them. One time I got several rolls of Philly cents that someone saved for a time. There were no doubled dies in them, but I did find a 1998 Wide AM. (evidently the one passing these on to the bank was not aware of them. But that was all. I had a collector that would number rolls from the boxes he had. He would send me 2-3 rolls from each box. Once I found a new DDR in one, but it was listed before I could send it in. There were also trail dies in some rolls. Just takes time and patience to see what is there. When going through the rolls I search for markers to sort them by. Then I would give him a report and he would save those rolls or send them back to the bank.

Db I feel your pain with the shield cents-my motivation for them comes in spurts. I also do the same as coop does anytime I go out of town/state and or on vacation.

Or get cents from a casino. You never know where they were before they were rolled up.

I agree with your lack of interest for new 2015 cent. At least I did until last October. I got a $25 box from a local bank. When I got home and saw they were all new rolls of 2015's I set them aside and worked on other circulated boxes. In November I decided to check some of the 2015's. The third coin I looked at was the 2015 WDDO-006. I sent one to Wexler and got the attribution for this find. I found several rolls in that box. Changed my outlook on the rolls of new coins!

All it takes is for a variety to be found in your box to spark interest in them again.

I agree. I got a few boxes of 2014 and 2015 cents and just brought them back. But a couple months back, I got a box of 2015s. This time though I decided to look through. The main reason: those other boxes came early on and there were few or no listings at the time, but this box came to me in 2016 and there are many listings. To coop's point, I picked rolls from various spots in the box and I see that there are a few die sets in play. Most uninteresting. But I did find a few DDO in half the box searched. Not great ROI of time, but it will produce. And if you get a discovery coin, a bonus. So it just depends on what you want to do with your time. 2016 boxes are out there...so you never know.
