Wife handed me some pocket change and this coin stood out. So I went and weighted it 3 times and keeps coming up between 6-7 grams. Could this be silver?
Thank for your help.

I don't know of any 1965 Quarters that were silver. The standard weight should be 5.7 grams and your scale appears to not do fractions of grams, so maybe the 6 grams was a weight rounded up.

There were 1965 Quarters coined onto silver planchets and the weight would be heavier than the clad version. 6.25 grams. So your coin is in the correct weight range, but it doesn't look silver to me (looks like nickel). The normal clad planchet is 5.67 grams so a plated quarter could weigh around 6 grams. I think you need to do a silver test with tissue paper for starters and wait for folks with more knowledge to chime in and get you started on things you can do to figure out what you have there.

One way to test it is to place this coin and a silver coin side by side then cover it with a single layer of facial tissue. If they are both silver they should be white in color. If this is not a silver coin it will look gray.

That would be the real test to answer this question. Don't use a toned silver coin as it will throw this off. But the whiteness will show through the tissue, if the coins are both silver. If the coin shows through as gray, then it a cupro nickel clad.

Definitely looks like clad to me. Can you see copper on the edge?
