I think this one is PC59-501 (50+J9) with a small die crack through the last A of CANADA. Loop 2 and stem to Leaf 9 look consistent with J9.

Haxby PC59-491 (49+J8). Nice reverse die cracks to leaf 6 and leaf 9. Obverse has the E of DEI doubled punched.

Thanks so much for all your efforts, including the great photography, Don!
Don's out of coins to post, but I've agreed to oversee carrying on the "Mystery 1859" thread for awhile. To that end I've enlisted Phil310's help as well. One thing we'd really like to see is more participation, people willing to stick their neck out and take a guess. The goal is to help each other to understand the varieties better and maybe become more proficient at using my catalog at the same time.
One rule I'll impose that might make it more interesting: the person who has correctly guessed the immediately previous coin must wait 48 hours before guessing on the next coin. That will give others more of a chance. We'll start with a new coin tomorrow!

OK, here's No. 15. Not too hard for openers, but expect some head scratchers along the way, too...
