Have you ever noticed the differences between the large and small date cents of 1982. Most know the big difference is the location of the date to the rim. But much more is involved. Note the sizes of the devices and the bust size as well. There is more space for the distance between the rim and bust on the small dates and the space above the head also has more space. Something I've never noticed till I added an image of the large and small date zinc cents to my files today.
So no wonder when we look at the large date copper cents, the devices looks so much larger and often confused with a doubled die. But that is just the design for this year.
