very nice coins , the portrait is really the same on the last golden and the silver coin . What were the problems of James I ? Qua Deus .... , I don t know much of the English history , but I suppose it was not with his wife  . Here my coin for this century , from the same period: a coin from the Spanish Netherlands :reign of Albert and Isabelle : 1591-1621 AR patagon , 44 mm , 28.1 gr , 3 h obv : Albertus et Elisabeth Dei gratia rev : Archid. Aust. duces Burg.Dom Torn Z mint : Doornik/Tournai ,sign : the tower on obv between gratia et Albertus , second period : 1612-1621 .

Here's my example of the same type, dated 1645 - fairly nice for the type (I have a few more, but they're a lot more ugly), but nowhere near as good as yours...

Some nice 17th century coins so far! I was afraid that this thread would start slowing down once we were out of the 1700s. I'll contribute my own beat up William and Mary halfpenny:  Can't see the date, but it's got to be 1690-something. Got it in a lot of "old British penny coins" on ebay. No complaints!

I call this one my Spanish "hot mess" cob. It's been several things, including at a minimum an 8 maravedis in 1641.
