Here's another little set I've put together.

Ok, I love these. They are so little and detailed and cute for lack of a better word. So I decided to put together a run of them. There are no tough dates in the whole, short series. I wanted to do it without slabs, so I kept to VF/XF and decided I would not spend more than $145 on any coin. The whole thing was put together for around $1,025 or $114 per coin on average. Took about 5 months to find them all. Grades range from VF-30 to XF-45.

Very nice! Thank you for sharing this. I just started this set, myself. Definitely will have it advance much more quickly than my Seated Liberty half dime set, due to the shorter run. What I love about the Capped Bust is that it is a short series that seems to be in decent supply.

So far, I have only picked up three of them, all also raw - but that is likely to change, for me. Have not gotten around to getting pictures yet, but I managed to get a 1832 (AU/AU), 1833 (XF/VF), and 1837 (XF/XF). First grade is the sellers and the second is mine. Before I purchased, I expected the 1833 to be a tick below the sellers grade, and am still on the fence. It might make a low XF, but even if it is a VF like I expect, I made out well. Like you, I am aiming for VF and above. For now, I am just going to house them in Coin World Premier slabs, but I will likely send them all to NGC, at some point.

First two are in hand already, and I believe the last one will be here on Monday. In my opinion, I find these to be reasonably affordable. Managed to get all three of the ones that I have so far from one seller for $285, shipped. If my grading is on point, I paid about 35% of book value, or less. I don't expect to find deals like that for the rest of the series, but it won't stop me from going slowly to try.

I have not figured how deep down the rabbit hole I am going to go for varieties. I may just stick to the Small/Large varieties, as there is very little difference in premium.

Very nice Andrew...I have thought about this set many times. I have 3-4 of them and I think that I will tackle these now that I have completed the 7070. I think they will look good beside my small diameter CBQ set.

I really do like that set, first time I have seen one put
together.

I also like the capital coin holder, I might have to start
this set.
