Tough to grade with my still novice eyes. Cartwheel is there and I think the overall dark toning is messing with my eyes. CCF opinions would be fantastic but I think this might need to go the way of the TPG-ers...

AU55...cleaned? Or is it just the lighting?

Typical AU 84-S Morgan. There are many, many coins of this year and mint that are in AU for some weird reason.

Looks mid AU...these coins get into the thousands in Mint state.

And that's exactly why I asked...MS is crazy money in this coin! This still worth a submission to PCGS even at 53 or 55?

Looks AU-55 for detail and luster. The color looks off but that could easily be due to the photo. There are some dark areas near the obverse rim (especially around E of E Pluribus Unum) that may be of concern. They look like some slight corrosion may be present.
A problem-free, PCGS or NGC-graded AU-55 sells in the $300-$500 range so your coin may be worth a grading fee investment. PCGS should provide higher resale value but they may be less likely to grade it that high. I have this date in ANACS AU-55 and mine was definitely priced below comparable examples in PCGS holders.

I will go AU53 based on what can be discerned in these images. The color does look odd but that is likely just the photos?

AU-55. It gives me a "cleaned" feel, but it is hard to tell as it may just be the photo/lighting.

Here are some "better" pictures. The gold toning is hard to capture...
