I got me three of those 5 Peso coins on ebay. It is a nice way to stack silver. I will keep looking at LCS in the junk silver bin for those big silver coins.

Which 5 Peso coins did you pick up?

I do like the big Mexican silver coins.
Here are a couple I picked up earlier this month.

If I don't have a place to put them into one of my albums.
They go into my silver treasure box.

At my LCS they have a bunch of these coins others have mentioned. Mostly Canadian, Mexican, but also Philippines, Australian, and surprisingly German States. I make sure to buy any German States ones they ever get since I really like how those look. Not too many big ones but I usually pick those up at spot price when they get them.

I got the 1947 and 48 Mexican coin with the Aztec god on it. I also got a Balboa 1931. I also bid on one of the Bermuda Silver coins. I want to stack silver as cheaply as I can and coins are such an interesting way to do it. The 5 Fran coin is usually snatched away from me at the last second. What years for the various big silver coins are best?
I see the Hidalgo Mexican coin and the many sizes of the Balboa's. The we have the many Maria Theresa's from years after 1780.

The Venezuela 5 Bolivares are pretty cool. I like big Netherlands Guldens too, 2 1/2 I think.

I would recommend the Italian Liras of the early 20th century. Italian coins are known for their ornate designs. Good luck finding one at spot though...

I got a Russian big silver coin dated 1909 which quite stunning in AU condition. I see a bunch of coins from the Nazi era and I wonder if these coins are all that collectable. I got a couple of big silver coins from West Indies that are 20 crowns. These are huge coins.
