I will get a camera soon to post pics. I got a pretty decent deal on a 2 dollar Bahamian coin which is huge and in Unc. condition for $20. It must be a commemorative coin with Queen Liz 11 on the front. It even came in a little case. GR58, what percentage silver are the coins you posted? They are fine, fine coins. Which do you believe is the best bargain for the money.

I would have to look each one up, do you have a world
coin price guide.

The coins I am posting have been bought out of junk
foreign silver bins. I pay melt for them. Over the
years I have put hundreds of them into my collection.

If I had to guess most of the coins I buy are .600 to .925
fine silver. I picked up a big Canadian silver today,
1.44 oz. of silver 1976 Olympic coin.

I took some quick pictures of the Canadian coin.
I really like Olympic commemorative coins, I think
I have a good start on a interesting group of them.

Krause publications
With them you can look up how much silver is in each coin, it
gives you a good starting point. Sometimes you can pick up
used ones at LCS's. Even with the older guides you can figure
out which are key date or better coin. Also I have seen DVD
version online at pretty good prices.

Yeah my LCS has some good ones every once in a while as far as foreign silver. I make sure to pick up anything that might go in a type album (even those I don't have just yet!) Hunting em makes it fun!

I just wanted make another comment here to say that I love the pictures of some of the coins that some of you posted which make me want to go out and get more large foreign silver coins! The only problem for me is that I've never seen anybody selling large foreign silver for spot before. Then again, I haven't stopped at every coin shop in my area either. Perhaps it's time for me to expand my horizons!

NGC has the best online lookup available for World coins. It lists Weight, ASW, Melt Value, and FMV. I take the FMV with a grain of salt because foreign coins are very volatile. Just start typing the year in the search and the results are automatically filtered as you type!

Yes .. ask if they have a foreign melt bucket.

They might just be taking them off to be melted.

I got three of the 100 Peso 1977 Mexican silver coins. They are not 90% silver but are a lot less expensive than some of the others. Just buying silver eagles is probably the best way to buy bullion besides just buying it in bar form, but they you are truly just stacking silver and precious metals are so volatile that I would not waste time doing that.

Terry ... Sounds like your starting to get a nice stack.
If it's the Mexican coin I am thinking about, thery made
then in 1977 and 1978. I think I have a couple of them.

I know stacking silver has a lot of choices.

I try to do some of all the different type
Eagles, Maple leaf, Panda ... Etc
90%
Premium rounds and bars
Foreign silver

What ever looks good that day.

Do that for a couple of decades ... It can end up being a nice stack

Give me another 20 years .. I might be there

I like different types as well. I am getting the Krause guide. I did get messed up sort of by buying a Kopeck. I got the coin and it was so tiny I thought it was a joke. It was a joke but the joke was on me. It was a 1909 10 Kopeck Russian coin. The photo on ebay made it look pretty large. This is why I need the guide for sure. I got a 5 Franc coin from 1940's that is very tarnished.
