Palouche. Finn235. FVRIVS RVFVS. Orfew. Spence. Caesar77. Sel_69l. GERMANICVS. Imperator. Irbguy. Lucky Cuss.

Etc., etc.

So, let's face it. We're probably never going to have the opportunity to sit around together, drinking beer, and sharing ancient/medieval coin stories in person.

Still, we're a community. I for one am curious to know some of the first names of the folks who frequent this board. I realize some of those names are likely buried in the thousands of topics posted here or perhaps in the "Picture the Ancient Coin Collector" section. I've possibly read some and forgot - and, if that's the case, please forgive me.

IF you are willing to share your first name, at the risk of occasionally having it mentioned in posts here, please chime in. Of course if you simply wish to be known here exclusively by your username/handle and don't want to reveal your actual name, that's great too. But clearly some folks are okay with revealing their names: for example, antwerpen2306 always signs his posts as Albert and most of know that Echizento is Ron, Ancientnoob is Nate, and I recall in one post that Chuy1530 mentioned his name is actually Eric, but he goes by Chuy.

Here, I'll start:

Bob L = Bob

Yeah, well duh.

No prizes for guessing my name... I am good with names...and faces but get a bit muddled up sometimes, hence even though I might know the name I don't use it in case I am talking to the wrong person... there is nothing worse than calling someone the wrong name ^^

Anyone with even rudimentary interwebs searching skills can find me, as there are very few with my last name. I'm in the "Dave" camp too, although my ride is a POS Toyota Matrix.

I guess I'll bite.

Name's Steve. Finn was a random name that I created to log in with Coin People back in 2008. My grandfather, who sparked my love of coin collecting, is pure-blooded Finnish. 235 were the last three digits of my old university student ID.

Before being Finn, my online handle (since 2002) was Sir Bobbington.

Thanks to those who have "revealed" thus far. I am grateful. Perhaps it's overstating it, but I feel there is a certain degree of trust and comradery that is implied by the revealing of your names. I do appreciate it.

So...for those keeping score:

echizento = Ron
Ancientnoob = Nate
sel_69l = David
DavidUK = David
Spence = Dave
tenbobbit = Damion
Palouche = Paul
antwerpen2306 = Albert
Athalbert = Alberto
Finn235 = Steve

If this were a CCF poll, it might look like this:

Ancients/Medieval-Folks:-First-Names-Anyone?

OOPS! Sorry, Baltas. I missed you. Amended list:

echizento = Ron
Ancientnoob = Nate
sel_69l = David
DavidUK = David
Spence = Dave
tenbobbit = Damion
Palouche = Paul
antwerpen2306 = Albert
Athalbert = Alberto
Finn235 = Steve
Baltas = Szilárd
