can anyone tell me whether they plan to offer the burnished model of the 08 ASE? I had been told that later this year it would surface, but I haven't seen or heard of this anywhere else...maybe someone who collects the ASE could shed some light?

Do you mean the uncirculated version? I have one in my collection right now. They are only available from dealers is my understanding. I bought mine on ebay from Modern Coin Mart back in January.

i have been informed that the "w" uncirculated 2008 hasn't been released from the mint. the dealers have received coins w/o the mint mark. furthermore the "burnished finish" isn't actually a different coin at all, but rather just a mint mark that was started in 06. this information came from the usmint. they sell uncirculated ASE to dealers w/o the mint mark. later on this year the mint marked ASE will be released. the proof is currently the only one available from the mint.
i had been told that the finish was different from the UC and the burnished which in all truthfullness isn't true. it's just a mint marking...

Mine does not have the W mintmark. I thought you meant the uncirculated version. I agree 100%, there is really no difference other than the mint mark.

I certainly would not have a problem with that...I paid 28.51 for mine. NGC MS-69.
