Locally this weight is known as one "panamida". (Panamida=panam+ida;Ida=edai meaning weight, the word having come from Tamil language)

VIJAYANAGARA
During 13th and 14th centuries, South India used get frequently invaded by Muslim rulers from Delhi. In the Deccan a Hoysala commander created the Kampili kingdom near Gulbarga . Delhi Sultanate demolished Kampili as well. Eight years later, in 1336 Vijayanagara Kingdom emerged from the ruins of the Kampili kingdom.
The Sultanates in central India united against Vijayanagara in January 1565 that resulted in Battle of Talikota. Aliya Rama Raya was killed in the Battle of Talikota. Followingly Tirumala Deva Raya started the Aravidu dynasty and founded the new capital Penukonda.Tirumala divided his kingdom to his three sons to abdicate in 1572. He died in 1578. The Aravidu dynasty continued to rule some territory until 1646. Their extinction resulted from wars with the Sultanates. Many kingdoms in South India became independent . Important among them are.Mysore, Nayaks of Madurai, Tanjore, Chitradurga and Gingee .

Thank you jbuck for your post.

I am sorry that I am unable to post the coins of Vijayanagara chronologically. It will take lot of time to correctly attribute some of the coins and arrange them chronologically.
