Love, love what you did with your display. I actually bought a few of the floating frames and I will try what you did. And, yes I love custom packaging:)))))))
Thank you for sharing.

Interesting fact, but neither the RCM June release launch, nor Perth release (where among the coins Thor and Kangaroo), created discussion on other forum. This also could be some measurement of the public interest and gauge of the future prices of these coins on the secondary market.

@onecad: Very nice. The "floating" frames add to the visual impact of the art on each coin. They are a nice way to display a few coins around the house.

Quote:Would someone kindly tell me - the Haunted Canada series, is there any difference between the coin in the CP set and the single coin that RCM sells in a case? My understanding is that it is the same coin in two different packages.

Might be CP package looks better, but the lenticular effect that coin minted with, seen when you looking at the coin from the different angle, and single coin better for that use.

So the Maple Leaf Maze coin is listed as a June release, but the Mint's web page for it say it's not shipping until Aug 12. I wonder why there is such a long delay. Last week I ordered one of them, and my order status is "Processing". I wonder if I'll receive it before Aug 12. I wish they'd ship these out right away. You might thing I'm crazy, but these coins may be worth a lot more later.

You never know. The reviews on the RCM are pretty bad. That's why I bought it. I was hoping very few sold, making the more rare.

@rjlavoie Maybe the RCM is finding out how many to actually manufacture. Thus, the late delivery date? I am just guessing; however, look at what they did with the Gold Star Trek?

@redzapsid Too funny! I bought two hoping not too many are issued. @ commens The Haunted Canada Series started with the "Ghost Bride" then "Brakeman". The RCM and most dealers sold both ventricular coins as singles. Canada Post issued each coin with the coin and a matching stamp set. I guess the "Brakeman" is not selling as well as the first "Ghost Bride" coin and that is why the RCM is trying to help out.

I'll have to wait to get one, then I'll spill the beans as to why I think the maze coin will be worth more later. Can you say "Opps". Someone didn't do enough homework.

What a tease!! Are you saying "OOPS" and what do you mean by "homework"? You have me really curious.

Thanks for the information about the Haunted series, something I always wondered about.

The RCM does not strike the entire potential mintage of a coin prior to its launch. They strike an initial quantity and then monitor sales. When it becomes clear that more coins will be needed to meet demand, they schedule another production run. Some of their pre-launch sales estimates are better than others! When the maze coin was launched, its sales page on the RCM web site indicated that shipping would begin on June 7th. The fact that it now says August 12th suggests they've sold out the quantity originally produced and need time to produce more. Maybe sales have been much better than expected, or maybe they couldn't get a full quantity of the little brass balls that go with the coin prior to launch!
