@commens
Thank you so much for your insight. I know, I sound harsh as well and everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Comments such as grandparents never know what correct gifts to buy are totally disrespectful. As a grandparent, I am so in tune with all 3 little ones. Maybe it is because I spend lots of time with each one and know what their wants are just like I knew the wants of my children and STILL do!! The term "granny bait" is disgusting.
Again, just saying.

Who cares if it goes up or down?
You're absolutely right. However the reason many people quit collecting NCLT is because of the mistaken notion that a popular release will sustain it's value over the long term. Then when they notice only a few month's later that they can buy the same thing for 1/2 price, they become discouraged, lose interest and move on to something else. Collecting NCLT is by no means a good investment.... Quote:

Very much how goes life and opinions in general, opposing points of view are always interesting to contemplate. But for someone buying NCLT for the right reasons, what other people think shouldn't matter whatsoever. If anything, other buyers might think about their own reasons and not hit "buy" just because others are doing the same. Following the crowd (popular opinion) is not always a good buying motive....often leaves one later wondering "why did I want this?"

Oh that's cool! Never heard of one of those...but sounds like it'd be the reason why you have great analytical thinking skills! Quote:

It's blatantly obvious RCM uses the "Hurry, Buy Now" (aka impulse buying) marketing strategy - % SoldOut, MC pre-selling # days, "Previous releases sold out", dozens of examples on their website. So that online maximum ordering volumes might be intentionally manipulated, wouldn't surprise me either. RCM is able to read every click on their website and if they notice a lot of people inputting large orders but not following through, then by word of mouth the totally mistaken assumption gets spread through social media prompting a rush of orders.....well if it creates sell outs sooner, they're not breaking any laws because nowhere did they promise max order data is a reliable indicator of anything.

I can't help but comment on this. I have a standing joke in my family...I'm the only coin collector and in recent years I've began giving coins for gifts. Some are my own, other NCLT I've bought. Because over time I've gotten back or distributed back MANY useless gifts that others have bought as the older generation has passed on. So now I mainly give coins and tell the recipients (not young children of course) "you're getting this because if anything happens to you I want to like the gift that I get back!" It's become quite a humorous thing, particularly because I'm older than any of them.

Lol. Lol. Lol. A truly great comeback and what a great chuckle you have given me. A new meaning to re-gifting.
I do not give my kids coins. I am saving them in compartments for each grandchild to get upon my departure from this earth. Something to remember me by. Whether it will turn out to be a good or a bad idea, I have no clue nor will I know unless there is an afterlife. Lol. Lol. Lol.
Thank you for the good chuckle:))))

Sometimes I pop into see the nclt section. It reminds me of a pump and dump stock market forum. If someone likes the coin great, if not great. Doesn't appeal to me, but I don't begrudge anyone that likes it, it's kinda neat.

@New1954 If you are going to quote me, please get it right. I did not say "grandparents never know what correct gifts to buy". I said they rarely do. And I stand by that. I received many gifts from my grandparents that were baffling and I received a few that I treasure to this day. And I've seen my own parents give gifts to their grandkids that totally missed the mark. Well meaning but not what the kids wanted. Your mileage, as always, may vary.
Regardless, my comment was my own opinion based on what my mint rep said and it was not directed at you. If you inferred some disrespect, that is on you.
BTW, I also find the term granny bait distasteful and it's usually directed at all NCLT by circulation coin collectors but you used that term, I didn't.
Just saying.

Um, I did not use your quote. It was something that I read throughout the forum. Sorry I could not remember who it was; however, you do.
Please do not be offended. It was just an opinion. And, we are all here to share our thoughts, so I felt I could put in my fifty-nine cent worth. Lol
Just saying. Lol. Lol. Lol

Oh my goodness, what next. This isn't a RCM "Canada" product but it's listed on RCM's website especially for those who chase low mintage (2000) and like gimmicks because, well apparently the lid on the coffin makes a squeezing sound...Hurray 90% sold! http://www.mint.ca/store/coins/ster....V1CbVZDOerULink is broken - Coins from the Crypt (2016) - 4 coin set

The RCM June release is now available to the general public. It turned out the prognosticators got it all wrong. They picked the Maze coin to sell out which it did not. As of now, there are 419 Maze coins available for order. The Yin Yang coin is the one on a waitlist. The crystal raindrop also sold out but that was limited to 4500, so it was expected. If you look at the reviews for the Maze coin, you will notice it is 2 stars out of 5. One of the lowest ratings I ever seen. As for the Maze coin going to awaiting stock 3 or 4 times, what a joke. Most people knew there was no way all 8000 could be sold out.

I like the Yin Yang coin very much, but can't bring myself to paying almost $100 for 20 grams, especially when the 2007 is now available for $37.95.
The 20,000 mintage for the 2007 coin vs. the 6,888 mint for the 2016 coin doesn't justify the price difference, imo.
I'd definitely buy it at a discount, though.
