The 1872 Indian Head Cent... As I get a better look at it now too, I see the headdress is pretty worn on the obverse. The reverse has a pretty worn wreath... Hmmm...What do you guys think ?

Posted in the appropriate section, (coin grading), it's apparently a "possible metal detector find" and "cleaned". PCGS value at $90.00, but THIS coin is $25.00 - $30.00 .. So, not great news, but I'm still happy to have a key date that I couldn't afford to buy...so. I should learn not to get my hopes up until confirmation comes in....

Ok... My dad's silver bag Rosies.... (I'm not listing all the dates) 115 - Roosevelt silver dimes Kennedy 7 - 1964 - 90%ers.. 3 - 1968 1 - 1965 Washington Silver Quarters . .. (I will check dates at a later time) 15 - Washington silvers So...that completes the 3 bags from my mom & dad. Now...if I only had my Dansco's back for these junk silvers....sigh...

Ok...I did find my Roosevelt with Proofs Dansco, my Kennedy with Proofs Dansco, and my Washington quarters with Proofs Dansco....but.. I only have high quality specimens in those ! No "junk silver" ever touched their pages! -- I found a "U.S. Mint" album, empty of Washington quarters. So that must have been what I raided years ago. I can start filling those holes in that one ! --

Still a cool find on the IHP. Maybe you could throw it in an airtite as a momento of your parents. When my dad passed away he left behind several coins that I placed in airtites as a memory. Congrats on finding your albums, you need to focus on convincing the wife to let you add to the collection :)

I posted it in the "Grading section" /classic coins too.. (or I should say it was moved there) But check out those grade and value opinions. .... (Also, in looking at all of my IHC's now, I've realized that I've never had an album for these. I just have 2 filled coin tubes of them.) Sigh...I need alot of dang albums ! -- Wish I never had to sell crap a few years ago....

Quote: It was 90% complete..... Find it! Find it! Quote: My wife wouldn't allow the budget to buy a Dansco. ... I may need to sit down with her and have a heart to heart.

Congrats on the 1872! It's good you have the knowledge to go through those coins! This is about as good as "unsearched" gets.

For what it is worth, and as much as I would love a second set, I will not fight anyone on it. I do hope it finds a home with a CCF member.
