I can't believe how many e-bay sellers are now using this U. S. Coin Grading outfit. An obvious 1882 s Morgan in a slab listing an 1883 cc.

After going to this companies web site I realized they don't even list any contact info.

Not one of the coins listed on e-bay that had been graded by these people comes anywhere close to the grade listed.

As part of their service they offer coin cleaning and proceed to tell you how terrible a toned coin is. Oh my god!!

I once almost lost my e-bay privileges over a 3-legged Buffalo nickle that I purchased then resold on e-bay while the authenticity of that coin has not been determined to this day. YET these people continue to use an obviously fraudulent grading company in hundreds of auctions everyday.

I want to scream it out on the mountain top. Buyer beware.

I saw that this company had been questioned in this forum at least once before so I thought I'd share what I saw just this day.

USCG is not a coin grading outfit, it is the U.S. Coast Guard

Seriously though, USCG is not a real TPG. Just a way for people to seller their own coins at inflated prices. This is why ebay went to only a few companies listed as legit TPGs. People with junk like this cannot list it as being certified or place a grade in the title. If the seller has done that, report it! Unfortunately, stuff like this needs to be completely banned and this is one of the most fraudulent examples out there- not only hideously overgraded, but also cleaned/polished

Are they located anywhere close to a shore line, maybe we could get the Coast Guard to have some gunnery practice.

I went into a couple of the auctions using this outfit and asked some serious questions about the validity of their coins. I'm headed over there now to see if I got any answers.

Thanks for the response and I like that word, HIDEOUS, very fitting.

Hideous indeed. Amazing what gross things people will do for a little (or a lot of) money. And the part about the cleaning and toning!

I have bought one of their coins too in the past. Cleaned, dipped and overgraded.
Coin was immediately cracked out of the slab and is now getting some color on a window ledge.

Thank the Lord we do NOT have grading services in Oz.
We beg and plead with our American cousins to keep them to themselves.
You created them, you keep them.

I bought a USCG 1832 Bust half off of ebay listed as MS65 at a great price thinking it might be a AU coin. I received the coin and it was XF at best. I returned it immediately !!
