I use teletrades price realized list to show what coins have been selling for that I am interested in and couldn't help but notice the big price difference between PCGS and NGC coins for 1972 Ike's. I am learning about the 3 type coins produced in that year and was amazed to see the same type 1 or type 3 listed with big differences. For example a NGC coin might go for 60 to 80 dollars while a PCGS is going for twice as much. Is PCGS that tough a grader on Ikes's.

Howdy Smallchange,
PCGS will often agree with NGC on the grade for a specific coin, so I wouldn't say they are ALWAYS tougher graders. However, the general perception in the marketplace is that PCGS is usually more strict and prices reflect that perception. For modern coins, PCGS doesn't give out as many MS-70, PR-70, and Deep Cameo (Ultra Cameo) grades as does NGC. For those top-graded coins, the PCGS prices are almost always significantly higher.
