I noticed this coin on ebay, and the die crack was so large it intrigued me. I don't ordinarily bother with 1900-H. But I just received it and I like it.

Am I correct in saying this is a "die break" instead of a die crack as it's very strong and goes rim to rim?
Trying to ace the terminology :)

GregJG-
This is known as a large "die crack."
A "die break" is when the die separates
resulting in a full or Retained Cud.

Here's a link to a previous discussion on a coin like yours. Late die states of this coin are minted with a retained broken die.

Wow. Now I have to go through all my other 1900-H's and see if I have any more. I'm going to post an 1859 with spectacular (2) die cracks/breaks later today. Thanks again.
