in the 70's mint proof sets some have silver coins , I guess.
can someone point me to what is what and the silver percentage

There were only three four sets from the 1970s that contained any silver content- 1970 Mint and Proof Sets(half dollar 40% silver clad) and the 1976 3 coin Bicentennial Mint and Proof Sets(also 40% silver clad). 40% silver Ikes were also sold individually but were not part of the annual sets.

You missed the 1970 proof set, the 70 S half is 40% silver.

I have talked with guys that tell me the 1965 through 1970 also have silver ion them.
is this true

the 65 - 70 half dollar is 40% silver, so yes those mint sets have silver as well.

And just to be clear, there were only special mint sets in 1965, 1966, and 1967. No proof sets those years.
