For what it is worth, the Standing Liberty quarter thread has been done three times, while there are several that have only been done twice. The Carson City thread was done once, and that was four years ago. Seems like a fair idea.

I just pulled all this stuff into a spreadsheet and did some sorting. Technically, the "never ending" Barber thread is the least recently done thread. With that said, Old Copper (The 65 Days of Half AND Large Cents) was last done before the most recent SLQ thread.

What about a 50+ days of state themed coins? Could add some territories too. This would bring in colonial coins, commemoratives, tokens, State Quarters, and perhaps some oddball issues!

Carson City would be interesting and you'd probably get the most CCF participation around common date seated and morgan.
What about a new spin on a type theme, Days of The Every-man's Pocket Change:
First section only cents large to small second nickels thirdly dimes fourth quarters fifth halves sixth dollars
You could do it by daily type meaning and for example, when you get to dimes its only 3 days long:
Day One federal/capped bust Day Two Seated Day Three Barber
This could wind up being an under 60 day thread and see lots and lots of participation.
A bit out of the old left filed but maybe...no offense taken if seen as too crazy a spin.

Quote: But seeing as Elbesaar has (virtually single-handedly!!) kept this thread alive, it probably should not the next "Days of..." thread, IMO. I agree. That is why I said "technically" and threw in the neener. Quote:An "Old Copper" thread would be the most timely thread. This. Quote:Now I'm leaning towards a Carson City thread... Or this. I can watch.

That is cool .... I might have a couple to post.
It will be interesting to see how many pre 1878 CC's will be posted .... or how many gold coins.

One possibility to get around the low participation of a CC-only thread would be a CC + S thread ("Coins of the Old West"), running from 1854 through 1893, 1899, etc. (or any cut-off year well before 1955, to avoid picking up too many modern types). "Old copper" sounds good, too, but didn't we do Half Cents fairly recently? The old copper thread could include a couple days of pre-federal issues, too (before 1783, after 1783, for example).

I have a couple .. Maybe 1875 or 1876 .... dime or quarter ... no gold.
I would like to see some of the more rare coins.
Would there be years where no coins would be posted ... 1870?
