1781 North American Token- US Colonial?

It's a very interesting piece which was minted in Dublin Ireland probably in the early 19th century. However, many sources claim that there is no evidence that these pieces ever really circulated in the United States. Thus, my question is: Do many collectors still actually regard these tokens as US colonial/Postcolonial coins? Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

I do believe that these plus the Birmingham issues, Washington bust (my avatar) etc.., are still collected as "post colonials". True there is little evidence these circulated in the American colonies and they were made in the 1820's/30's. I think a number,small?, were certainly circulated in Canada?
