What do you think an appropriate grade for this one would be? I am thinking AU-50.

(Note: I also posted this coin in a thread titled, Learning to identify cleaned, dipped, and other problem Lincoln Wheat Cents, https://goccf.com/t/266770 . In that thread, aristarchus123 noted that he has seen other 1943 cents missing the 4, presumably due to a grease-filled die.)

dd27, can you tell us why you think this one is AU?

I cannot see the surfaces in the fields very well in your photos, so I can't decide.

AU-58. Lincoln's cheek, jaw, lapels show signs of circulation.

Same reasoning as BadThad and LincolnGoldEagle.

I'll ask the photo experts how I might improve that. I recently purchased a photo setup from MacroCoins.com so I'm early in the learning curve.

Oh, from Ray! Turn down your EV, and position your lights higher, above the lens, but pointing more vertically than diagonal, and try doing 10o'clock and 2o'clock. If you can get some luster showing and eliminate those "hot" white spots, that would help.

From what I can see on the picture it looks at least AU-55 to me, as it seems Lincoln has some wear and the coin has many fine scratches. . Possibly an MS grade, but then I have to see the coin myself first. I'm not trusting my monitor screen enough.
