This coin had been sold and cancelled three times in the past month by shill up to $770. I am not sure how much the seller will sell it to a real customer. The grade is not so great.

Likely a cleaned AU piece. The scans looks really weak if you know what I mean.

No experience to judge a scanned coin. It looks BU. Does scanned coin lack luster in picture? What is your reasoning that it is an AU cleaned piece? BH, thank your very much for your insight.

Looks like a really pleasing 1926 S . The reverse on a majority of this issue are usually poorly struck. Don't know where it looks cleaned.. .? Please enlighten us.

Quote: What is your reasoning that it is an AU cleaned piece? 1. Red 1926-S LWC are rare and worth big money - when certified. 2. The seller, centsles, is a known shill seller with a bad rep. 3. The images look "modified" and deceptive. Calling it Gem BU is a joke. I guess it could be a low MS piece but again, this is a major dealer/seller. They likely know it will bodybag.

I don't see any luster visible. I see a lot of Lincolns that have this "flat" look on ebay and I just personally avoid them. If it is from "centsales", that's another red flag to me. All his coins seem to have this same look. 26-S in BU is an extremely tough date. Mine is less than perfect but the price was right. A certified example with some mint red still showing goes for north of $1000. I'd also be at high AU details. Just too much risk without seeing a coin like this in hand to assume anything else.

Agree a coin best avoided given this guy's rep, but still nice looking in these pics.

Looks nice in the pic, but I would not buy one from ebay in that price range unless it was slabbed. And good golly Miss Molly, y'all aren't kidding about the value of a red 1926-S. A PCGS MS65-RD sold for $149,500 in 2006! http://coins.ha.com/itm/lincoln-cen...a/394-3097.s

Looks like a really nice example of a tough coin...except there is NO luster, not even a hint. It's probably been cleaned and retoned.

More than likely a cleaned AU.

Just the word "Centsles" being mentioned in this thread says it all! If the coin was as good as Centsles (and his shills) thinks it is, it would have been in a legitimate TPG slab long ago!
