This dollar is missing the green treasury seal. You can see where it stamped-very small dots but seal did not take. wondering the value.

Here's a note to compare it to -- but it's not an accurate comparison.http://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-USA-Am...e-the-Seal-i

I can't see your note well enough to tell if it was tampered with.

If you're sure it's a genuine error note, watch the SOLD listings on ebay to see what they are really worth.

I have been watching ebay but nothing close comes up. I opened a pack of ones when I was bartending and noticed something was different when I was putting it back down as change for a customer so I kept it and gave the customer another one. I checked the rest of the pack but they were all normal? I have had this for years as I bartended from 99-2008. I believe it was 2000 when I opened the pack of ones.

I'm far from an expert on errors but it appears to be a legitimate error missing the green treasury seal.

This note was printed in January 2000 http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/f1999_s.html

Here's a similar one that sold on Heritage back in 2011 https://currency.ha.com/itm/error-n...ption-071515

MeadowviewCollector,
Thank You. I wonder what the 2011 example sold for? I actually opened the brand new pack of ones. I know it was never circulated as I saw the "error" when giving it out and did keep it for myself.

The example I linked to above sold for $126.50 this price includes a 15% buyer's premium. The cost without the buyer's premium was $110.

Sherry -- I don't know if you're a collector or not but if you hope to sell this note someday....

Do not fold it or lay something heavy on it.

You can buy a currency sleeve at a coin shop.

You can sell it on ebay or sell it to a dealer at a show or a shop.

Maybe someone else has some advice about getting it graded?
