I got these two unidentified coins at ebay recently. They look vaguely familiar, but I can't read much of the text.

The first one is 18mm, 1.2 gm. Very tarnished. Possibly billon. Looks possibly like a Crusader coin. The 2nd side reads SAP__LI[N?]ARS.

The second coin is 27mm, 3.20 gm.
Ha! I just partially identified this - a Knights Templar gros tournois. But the reverse reads "IOHANNES REX" and has a cross with a long arm. Not quite like the Templar coins I just found on the 'net.

Any help in identifying these coins would be greatly appreciated.

Those are cool!

sometimes the fellow on one side (sometimes shown as obverse, sometimes as reverse?) as an "angel" instead of an eagle.
