1942 S Nickel With Die Crack Rim To Rim Reverse

I have to say that this has been the second best coin CRH for me. I found this 1942 S Nickel with another 1943 P wartime nickel. Last week it was a 1943 beautiful steel penny and now this week are these nickels. I still think someone ditched their collection at Achieva bank and I'm just picking up their pieces.

I attempted to trace the die crack on the reverse from rim to rim. I'm not the greatest with pictures but from what I can tell the more dim it was the better at seeing this die crack.

Don't see rim to rim everyday. Yes I loose track on two of the high points, but expected with circulation I'd think. Thanks, Doug.

that is called a retained die crack. as the die was obviously in 2 pieces, and probably only hit a few more coins after that one.

Very Nice fine, ace_ftw, it is a split die, also known as a bisecting rim to rim die crack.
