Does anyone know how many (if any) MACO produced issues have qualified for inclusion in the Hibler and Kappen SCD Catalogue ?

Thank you in advance.

The latest addition to my modest Hall of Fame for Great Americans at NYU series collection is the silver version of:

Sculptor Albino Manca -- who produced the Cardinal Spellman Golden Jubilee Medal seen earlier in this thread-- created this HOF medal in 1968. Wt is 61 grams.

In 1971-72, Presidential Art Medals issued an "Aviation Hall of Fame" series of 10 medals, first struck by MACO, then by Art Medals, Inc. Below is the 1.75" bronze version of Charles A. Lindbergh, by sculptor Rolf Beck, struck by MACO, and embossed with its Danbury, CT, imprint:

Artist / Medalist Beck's entry on medalartists.com (sometimes referred to as "Dick Johnson's Databank") is here: http://www.medalartists.com/beck-rolf.html and includes a generous photo archive of Beck's work, including his contributions to the "Famous Black American" medal series, also struck by MACO.

As @commmems has noted: MACO was everywhere !

Thanks, Hondo. The MACO / Presidential Art examples in my medals collection have been fun to track down.

The "Lucky Lindy" medal posted above was part of a lot that included two additional Lindbergh medals:
Medal #1
A MACO produced 1.5 inch "Golden Jubilee" medal issued by The International Aerospace Hall of Fame in 1977, designed by Barbara Hyde, whose husband, Richard Hyde, was a sales representative for The Medallic Art Company, according to the Dick Johnson database entry: https://www.dickjohnsonsdatabank.co...barbara.html
Medallic-Art-Company-Maco-Medals Medallic-Art-Company-Maco-Medals
The obverse notes Lindbergh's DOB & DOD, describing him as "An Intrepid Airman" and "Dedicated Patriot." The reverse notes the distance, hours, and minutes flown beneath a depiction of "The Spirit of St. Louis" and the Eiffel Tower, along with the May 1927 dates of his solo crossing of the Atlantic.
Medal #2
In March,1977, the International Silver Co. of Meriden, Connecticut, under contract to the newly formed Charles A.Lindbergh Memorial Fund, co-chaired by Gen James Doolittle and Neil Armstrong, initiated a seven medal subscription series of Lindbergh tribute medals whose royalties were intended
Quote:
"to supply the income for study fellowships in the fields that had been of keen interest to Lindbergh: exploration, the preserving of wildlife and natural resources, and aeronautics as related to the balance between technology and the environment."
Source: New York Times Numismatics Column, 3/27/1977, Russ Mackendrick

Six of the seven medals in the series, as described in the NYT article, were to be 1-5/8", 1 troy ounce silver, issued one per month, from March to August. The seventh medal was to be 2 inches across, minted in .925 fine silver, weighing in at 1.75 troy ounces. The NYT article [ https://www.nytimes.com/1977/03/27/...-flight.html ] describes the entire series. Subscriptions were $34.95 plus $1.95 for postage and handling, for each medal.
Below is a 1.5 inch reeded edge bronze version of the final medal in the International Silver subscription series:

Credit for the design is given to Marcel Jovine. It appears Hyde and Jovine took their inspirations from Acme News -- later absorbed by UPI-- photographer Frank J. Merta's famous portrait of Lindbergh, taken at Mitchell Field, NY, about a month after he completed his historic voyage:

In May 2019, Heritage Auctions sold an NGC graded / CAG certified MS67 50th Anniversary Bronze from the Neil Armstrong Family Collection for $225.00.
Boxed sets of the silver seven medallion collection can be seen in the secondary markets. Does anyone know if there is a seven medal bronze counterpart ?

P.S. The seller of this lot of medals calls his store "mywifedoesnotunderstand". . .

My JFK Memorial Medal arrived yesterday, but I was unable to take pictures because my phone was dedicated to football from 10:00 AM until midnight. I'm quite fond of this one, as it includes the original shipping box (note postage: 12˘!) and all ancillary materials. I blocked out the name of the original owner.

The reverse of the leatherette display case has a built-in stand which has not been opened, so I'm leaving it that way. The medal is not removable, so the only way to see the reverse is by opening up the case. I believe it looks like this:
Medallic-Art-Company-Maco-Medals
An informational booklet is included:
Medallic-Art-Company-Maco-Medals
Medallic-Art-Company-Maco-Medals
Medallic-Art-Company-Maco-Medals
Medallic-Art-Company-Maco-Medals
And these two other items were in the box.
