I received mine from CP as well. The thing that gets me about this is had no chance to order through the mint, which is my preferred way ( trying to be loyal ). sarcasm! Now ordering through CP my purchase does not get credited to MC status, oh well. I can see with the way they have treated their loyal customers over the last year or so I have no reason to be loyal to them anymore. Still waiting on the MC credit that was supposed to be a coin case in August that changed( whenever they get around to it I guess). End of whine session.

My order from Canada Post arrived today and it was free from dust particles. It looks really nice. Unlike my recent shipments from RCM, I didn't get charged any sales tax, so even though I didn't get any credit towards future MC status, I saved about US $40.

I'm pretty sure that you can put Canada Post purchases toward your MC membership. I'm 99% sure I read that somewhere not to long ago.

My rep indicated that when I visited the mint - and their boutique in Ottawa - that my purchases at the boutique itself would NOT count, I don't see how they would allow Canada Post purchases to count.

Quote: My order from Canada Post arrived today and it was free from dust particles. It looks really nice. Yes, there's a big difference with a dust-free coin. My second coin is perfect, and it looks stunning. I sent my other dusty coin back to RCM for replacement. If they send another dusty coin, it goes back too. With recent quality issues I prefer to order from RCM because they will replace coins and will pay for return shipping. That's something many dealers won't do. I'm beginning to think that it's almost worth the extra 7% tax.

From MC FAQS http://www.mint.ca/store/mint/custo...-9800014#q23Can purchases made at a Royal Canadian Mint store count towards my Masters Club membership?
Purchases of RCM products made at a Royal Canadian Mint Store during a Program Year can be applied to your Masters Club account by sending the Royal Canadian Mint a copy of your proof of purchase and a request to have the purchase count towards your Masters Club membership. Copies of proof of purchase can be emailed to CustomerService.web@mint.ca or mailed to Customer Service, 320 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0G8.
Your rep likely just wanted you to use him/her for their own gain. No idea about CP.

I'm pretty sure I read something similar to that regarding CP as well. It was around the period that RCM was selling a $5 stamp I believe.

They take my membership number and they say they will update to my account later. When I checked my balance a week later I see they do go toward my membership.

If someone can confirm Canada Post orders can count towards MC that would be great information to pass to coin community members.

There are only a few Canada Post locations that you are able to apply to your MC status. Check on the mint's website.
