I think this is Machine Doubling. some parts of the coin look almost like dd. not sure what happened when I uploaded pics,only 1 went into post,others whent into previously uploaded files and they did not come out clear when I transfered them.

Nice example of MD...especially LIBERTY. It really shows how the shearing cuts into the original size of the letters, versus two impressions of each letter.

Very easy...

If the letters are smashed down in the strike...machine doubling.
If the resulting letters are thinner than they should be...machine doubling.

If it looks like two sets of letters with the same relief are overlapping one another...doubled die.
