In my collection I have recently this Urbs Roma. But it looks way different then the usual pieces.
Also the deer and romulus and remus below looks strange and the head on the other side aswell.

Is this a local piece?

I would agree this does not appear to be an official issue. Though there are many design styles to this type. https://www.acsearch.info/search.ht...r=0&company=

It does have the ' sort off' same signs above the deer.
But mine looks different though. there is a point in the middle and the deer is much detailled in his skin. Normal you don't see this detailed on any urbs.
Romulus and remus look like the kind of drawing whe do in kindergarden

Based on the lack of detail on Roma's cuirass, I would be shocked if it wasn't "barbarous".

That said, there were some very unskilled people making these at certain mints.

If you're looking for a deer, then the figure on the reverse of an Urbs Roma is certainly going to look strange to you, since it is supposed to be a she-wolf.

There appears to be a figure between the two stars on the reverse of your coin. Can you make out what it is? Perhaps a symbol of some sort? Two of the western mints used symbols in that spot for some of these coins.

The artistry is rather crude, but the lettering is all correct and properly proportioned, so it might not be an imitative. However, could you tell us the size in millimeters and the weight in grams?

Thank you for your reaction! I have been looking alround. ANd it looks exactly like this one from Jean elsen auction 112. But then more imitation likely. The style of the wolf is the same. And the sign between the stars looks more of the same aswell.

RBS ROMA, AE follis, 313-314, Trèves. Droit : VRBS ROMA B. casque à gauche, vêtu du manteau imperial. Revers : TRP La louve allaitant les jumeaux. Au-dessus, une couronne entre deux etoiles. Ref.: RIC 553. 3,12g. Patine vert fonce.
