For those who did it last year, care to share your stories of both being Santa and receiving from your secret Santa. Just curious as to the excitement and treasures obtained :)

This will be my third year. For my first year I was assigned someone in Canada and I wasn't sure if they would prefer something from the US or something Canadian. Last year I was assigned a history teacher in West Virginia. I enjoy checking out the persons posts and trying to learn a little about what they collect then picking out something I think they would like from there. In both cases I sent something I already had on hand and that was just as fun as getting my packages in the mail Both of my senders were from Canada and I now own 2 lovely Canada proof sets.

Actually the few years that I've been in the Secret Santa exchange I've been happy with all of my gifts. They have been unique and have added to my collection. I've received some unique items in areas of coin collecting that I really don't pursue but are never the less interesting and add to the variety of my collection. I look at it this way one gives what they can afford and from another collector no matter what value, it is greatly appreciated and cherished cause it comes from the heart and in the spirit of Christmas. That my friends is how I feel about it. We are all brothers and sisters in the pursuit of this wonderful and enlightening hobby.

712, You are supposed to send an PM to Santa, not Send note to Staff.
on a post by Santa (aka rggoodie), click on the third icon, Paper with envelope, and send your address that way.

Silver Don made a post which got deleted by accident. He posted about his experience last year. He received nothing. He spent many fruitless trips to the mail box with nothing to show for his efforts.
This is a random assignment Santa can not be responsible for the failure of those that are assigned.
However it has been discovered that Silver Don will be receiving a parcel this year. Even if he is not on the list.
Happy pairing to each of you. Hopefully your assigned partner will fulfill their responsibilities rggoodie Santa Richard

I'm sorry to hear about that, SilverDon. With any luck, it won't happen again.

SilverDon please put yourself on the list this year! MOST of the time these exchanges work out but unfortunately not 100% of the time. P-L-E-A-S-E! Don't let one bad apple spoil the fun.

Wow so sorry SilverDon why would somebody do that. If your going to do that then you must have larceny in your heart. That is sad. But that is the world we live in,. It takes all kind of people to make a world and you ran into one of the bad ones.
