Yes. They're like a coin roll tube version of those vintage dime saver books.

You might be able to take something thin .. like a plastic knife
And work the coins out

And work the coins out Funny you mention that, I thought of something similar about 15 minutes ago. I had the idea to use a couple of paper clips to flip the coins on their side to drop them out of the slot. So far I've retrieved 7 coins. Six Rosies and one Merc.

Actually had one or two of the tubes from People's Bank as a kid. If I remember correctly, the end with the slot would slide off the tube. Might not work as well today if the end hasn't been removed for 40 or 50 years!

Those look neat. I fear I could not resist the temptation to open them.

I have about 10 of that type in our safety deposit box holding junk silver. I know I was able to gently pry the top with the slit off and later reattach it by just pushing it back on.

With a lot of time and patience, I've emptied about half of the orange roll. Everything so far has ranged from 1941 to 1962. Majority are late 50s and early 60s. So I'm assuming this was probably last opened/filled in the early 60s.
The top is on pretty good. I even tried giving it a tug with a pair of pliers to no avail.
