OH, and # 8. Carry your cash in a wallet in your pocket. My wallet is one of those thick ones that isn't pocket-sized (super convenient when you carry lots of discount cards and such, not so much when you want your cash and credit cards on your actual person rather than in a purse), so I had put my cash in my pocket, which is how I lost it.
