Choosing-An-Ike-Album...

I had 3 pairs of duplicates, I chose the best one from each pair for the album. I also decided to wait for a better '76 P type 1, the one I have has some strange "toning" from its previous storage...

May we see that strangely toned '76-P T1? I'm curious. Great looking set so far. It's always nice seeing someone getting into Ikes.

Looks great ... I think you picked some nice coins.

I have hundreds of Ike's ...but only a few 1976 P type one Ike's.
They seem to be a little harder to find. I would suggest cherry
picking one from 1975 mint sets.

It's hard to capture in pictures. I believe it's more of a residue from packaging that left its mark. The coin was part of a three coin bicentennial set, but not an "official" set. The coins all had a strange tan/brownish coating that had the look of a woody Lincoln Cent. Acetone helped a lot, but you can still see the marks, more on the reverse than the obverse. All three coins have good detail, but no luster. If I get a chance I will experiment with lighting to see if I can capture the look of these coins in pictures...

The reverse of the quarter shows the color the best, you can see the "stripes" in the field between the drummers right arm and the word "quarter". All three coins have the same look to them...

I think I'm doing pretty well on cost on this set so far. The coins are all gifts from my father in law (except for the two I just bought-$9.40 shipped), and I got the album for $23 shipped. The coins are all nice uncirculated with nice luster and minimal marks, and I feel like I have a decent amount of coin budget to put towards nice uncirc. silvers!

Having a plan ...budget ... is the best way to complete a set.

Do your research and figure out what a good price is, for the
empty holes you have left.

Not sure what the post count that is needed for posting a want list.
If it is 250, you are getting close.
