I saw at a pawn shop, some SBA 1$ coins in First Day Cover marked envelopes.
In a US Mint blue box. BU coin showing with 1979-D coin in Dec. Date stamped on envelope.
They were busy and I didn't get to look and open the case. so I thought of asking here.

Do they have Collector value? and what should I pay? And what could I sell for.

I have a couple rolls I got for face value

All Have a Happy New Year and Thank You for any help

I've bought some of those first day issues at local coin auctions for face. I didn't really want them and just tossed out a low bid and won. You may be able to get $5 or $6 if you try to sell it to a collector.
Rest in Peace

Sell for $2-$7 on ebay, including postage. After you take the photos, post the lot, answer questions, pay the PayPal fees, pay the ebay fees, wrap the package, go to the post office, hope it gets there, hope the buyer likes it, you might make less than a couple bucks.

Buy it if you like it, not for resale.

I figured that they weren't worth much. They are easy to get for a buck. I have never seen any for sale before.
I was hoping the 1st day may have better quality coins, but I had to ask.

Thank You
Gary

They are cool to own if you like them, but there are more of them out there than buyers looking for them.

Well considering the SBA's came out in July of 1979 and not December the First day of issue must refer to the release date of the stamp on the cover not the coin.

I would be tempted to pick it up to keep it if the price was right...but not for re sell.
