Although this is self explanatory, I'd be interested to know a bit more about this 32mm token/commemorative medal - why they were produced, who for etc?

I have one of those tokens also that was handed down from my Grandma and also dated 1934 and I read in a token guide that some were not dated. Thanks for the reference guides for the info.
Apparently to commemorate the first principal use of aluminum (rather than steel) to construct passenger cars. Tremendous savings in weight and the elimination of the rust problem.
