A 2016-Harpers Ferry State Quarter...the coin has little wear on it...but Washington's head has much less detail compared to other quarters...a weak strike?

The strike look full. But the die may have had a slight amount of grease in it so the spaghetti hair is not as noticeable. It seems that the devices on the head are getting weaker. They may not be hubbing as deep as they used to. But I'm leaning more towards the struck through issue.

I have noticed that the majority of National Park Quarters I have seen so far have been weak around Washington's head. I do not know if this is the case, but I have been through a few thousand dollars worth of National Park Quarters in the past two years and it seems hard to find a strongly struck head. The text is usually strong and the head weak.

I have noticed this too, I would agree with coop saying that the hub might not be as deep as it was.

I think I would agree with a strike through issue...maybe a majority of state park quarters do not have a strong strike around the head...but this one is significantly weaker.

Hi, I'm new to this site. I also have a National Parks coin - 2013. Is it also a strike error?

Looks like the obverse was sanded off. (you can see the die scratches) If it were a struck through error, this would not be present.

Jeanine76, seems the abrasions / damage to the bust was applied to the coin after strike. Thanks, Doug.
