I recently purchased this Morgan and I cannot pinpoint which VAM variety it is (see E-Bay link below). It has the following...

A) Doubled Liberty (to the left)
B) Broken R in TRUST
C) Broken 4th star (on the right side)
D) B in PLURIBUS is NOT broken

I went to the vamworld website, but coundn't put all of the issues into one basket to determine which VAM it is...

When I attempted to resize the sellers E-Bay photos, they became extremely pixilated, thus the reason I did not upload them to this topic...

Any help is greatly appreciated!

From the engraved wing feather area this is a VAM-5, 7, or 46.
I cannot see the obverse features clearly enough to tell which of the three it is.

Yes I can see the predominant feature (worm eye die break) on the obverse -- this is a VAM-46.

LewFR, thanks. I definitely didn't see the die break near the eye until you pointed it out.

Would it be worth it cost-wise to resubmit the coin to have that particular VAM noted on the slab?

I suggest you send the 78S VAM-46 to John Baumgart who will put a VSS grading on the holder.
John may read this discussion topic and give you details -- mailing address, cost, etc.

That is a very interesting Morgan. I am thinking it will look a lot
better in hand then in the pictures.

Let us know when you get it.

John doesn't usually stop by here unless prompted but if the OP would like to use his VAMseal service of putting his VAM identification sticker on the slab here's his website. His email is at the bottom if you would like to contact him first.

The coin is just gorgeous in hand. The colors are stunning!

Thanks everyone for all the help on this. I am going to send it in for verification. The website says it only costs $6.00 + shipping... can't beat that...

Next question is what kind of value appreciation will the coin have after it has been stickered?

IMHO -- this is graded as MS66 I don't think the VAM attribution will increase its value, however to a VAM collector being attributed makes it more desirable, and at MS66 it is more desirable for those collecting for a registry.
