2008 UK Royal Mint Unicirculated Set Error

NumisRob Bedrock of the Community United Kingdom 18017 Posts	Posted 11/30/2016 05:24 am I thought I'd share a picture of my 2008 UK Uncirculated set, obtained that year from The Royal Mint and never tampered with since. As you can see, it has two London Olympic Centenary £2 coins in it, instead of one Olympic Centenary coin and one standard £2. An error set - with all the coins perfectly struck! (The apparent marks on the reverse of the 10p are on the packaging). Has anyone else ever come across a set with a similar error? Maybe you were the unlucky person who got a 2008 set with two regular design £2 coins? I believe because all the packs are loaded by hand, so it's human error. There's a 1986 set in my local coin shop with 2 x £2 coins (1 of which is instead of a 10p) There are a couple of the 2002 Commonwealth Games 4 coin sets with duplicate coins in. Slightly off topic but an error pack all the same is the Trial pack for the 1994 £2 coin, some of which were put together missing the blank inner cu-ni disc, just has the outer ring.
