my understanding is there are star(8 point) and cinquefoil (5 point)stops however on the widow head crowns there are six point stops
I have found no reference to six point stops photo is from a 1897 Crown
does anyone have more information on stops Thanks rr

The star (8 point) and cinquefoil (5 point) stop varieties are found on the Young Head Crowns of 1845-7. As far as I am aware, all the Veiled Head crowns of 1893-1900 have six-point stops.

so the differentiation of stops only applies to the Young head Crowns.Is one stop variety more or less common?
