to me, it looks like a die crack, not really an error

That is a die crack. It is not a big thing though. The die is showing its age. It is not ready for retirement yet. Probably several hundred thousands were struck after this event that cause the die crack. Keep in mind. If it raises off the coin (like your example) then that is a die issue. If it is incuse (sunk into the coin) then it is damage to the coin. So you have found an error coin, but not much of a premium for this. Welcome to the forum.
