But, it is one of those scarcer dates...1889...only 18,125 minted...of which I have 4 now. The scans hide a bit of old scuffing on the cheek. But, they do reveal a tiny, green, corroded spot on the reverse. Definitely not optimal but I thought the coin would still be considered market acceptable as such (that is, slabbable in theory). I consider the coin to be an AU50. More luster shows on the obverse than the reverse (which has a slightly crustier look), but there's very little wear to speak of.
