Got this back in change today. First thought plating on reverse but rim is still normal. Obverse side looks a little odd as well. Looks shinny gold under some lights and just really toned in dim lights. Thanks Guys!

I see a color difference in the obverse in an arc shape and I thought maybe it sat for a while partially covered by a larger coin and the darker color is toning from light/heat?

Just normal toning with the reverse exposed to some toning influence.

It's fairly hard to determine what the cause was, but my bet would be a dropped dime found later.

It may have spent some time in an area where sulfur content is high in the air?
